Research Study to Measure Impact of Local Content Initiative

Request for Proposals

In the spring and summer of 2008, CPB funded a multi-platform content initiative designed to help a local public broadcasting station, KETC, address the mortgage crisis facing many of the people living in and around St, Louis, MO. In addition to developing partnerships and resources to help citizens of St. Louis affected by the mortgage crisis, KETC developed a template that would enable other local public television and radio stations to replicate the mortgage crisis initiative in their markets.

CPB is now ready to provide funding to expand the local mortgage crisis initiative in up to 28 additional markets across the United States. The markets are being selected based on the highest incidence of foreclosure as determined by data from the United State Department of Treasury.

To measure the impact of, engagement with and change in awareness of the local public broadcasting licensee(s), if any, as a result of the mortgage crisis initiative, CPB is now seeking proposals for a pre and post impact/engagement/awareness research study to be conducted in up to three US television markets.
