CPB will be accepting applications for Round 15 DDF grants from CPB-qualified, non-commercial educational (NCE) television licensees for the following Categories. Stations should consider that this may be the last opportunity to receive DDF funding.
Category 1
Digital Television Transmission Facilities
CPB will accept applications to construct initial full power digital television transmission facilities or to maximize existing facilities from any station that has already received a FCC Construction Permit ("Construction Permit") for a fully authorized full power digital television facility.
CPB will consider, on a case-by-case basis, grant applications for digital transmission projects from any applicant that filed for a Construction Permit with the FCC on or before December 31, 2009 but has not yet been awarded a Construction Permit.
Category 2
Digital Translator Projects
CPB will accept applications for digital translator projects that convert or replace existing analog transmission translators to/with digital transmission translators from any station that has already received a permit(s) from the FCC. This includes television translators and television booster facilities. Applications for first time translator service projects will be considered on a case-by-case basis. CPB will consider, on a case-by-case basis, grant applications for digital translator projects from applicants that have filed for a permit(s) with the FCC on or before December 31, 2009 but have not yet received the required permit(s).
As of May 3, 2010, for Category 2: Digital Translator Projects only, CPB extends the requirement for having filed with the FCC to "on or before May 21, 2010."
Category Three
Digital Centralcasting Projects
CPB will only accept applications for new centralcasting projects that control multiple transmitters. Category Three applications must demonstrate that the requested funding will support only digital master control equipment.
