American History and Civics Initiative Phase II Evaluation

Request for Proposals

In fall 2007, CPB awarded seven Phase I - Research and Development grants for the design of new, groundbreaking media projects that measurably improve the learning of American history and enhance civic participation among middle and high school students.

Each project worked throughout 2008 with logistical assistance and oversight from WGBH Interactive, the project manager, to create proof-of-concept pilots, field test them, and develop a proposal for bringing the product to market.

A meta-evaluator designed a set of six "AHCI Evaluation Criteria" for all of the Phase I projects to address. After an extensive review of all Phase I results, CPB is considering awarding four production and implementation grants which constitutes AHCI Phase II.

CPB is requesting proposals from a person or firm to conduct an evaluation of the AHCI Phase II production and implementation grants.
