Request for Proposals
In close consultation with CPB, the Initiative Manager of the Public Media Dropout Awareness and Youth Engagement Initiative will oversee, coordinate and support the integrated components of the initiative which include national and local on-air and online content, interactive educational curricula, and on-the-ground community engagement. Due to the broad scope of this initiative, CPB anticipates proposals from collaborations of public media stations, producers and/or public media entities.
The primary goals for the Dropout Awareness and Youth Engagement Initiative are:
- Create sustained awareness of the dropout crisis, its impact on local communities and the country as a whole, and of resources available to help communities.
- Enhance the learning experiences for at-risk youth by providing educators with interactive curricula and hands-on digital media creation tools that will engage and motivate students.
- Increase the learning and developmental capacities of at-risk youth to support their future academic success.
- Build the knowledge and capacity of adults (parents, mentors, volunteers) who support and influence at-risk youth.
New applications are no longer being accepted. Check this page for updates about this initiative.
