The American Archive was conceived to support the preservation of public media content, including the restoration and digitization of existing public media analog content and the capture and preservation of newly created "born digital" content, ensuring that public media's legacy is preserved for future generations. It will preserve content created by public broadcasters and be accessible to educators, students, historians and the general public. In the coming months the American Archive team will manage several projects to capture and digitize legacy content, and to establish protocols for the capture and long-term storage of new, "born digital" content.
CPB is seeking a consultant to analyze and, where appropriate, provide recommendations to improve CPB's American Archive department processes, workflows, and management structure.
New applications are no longer being accepted. Check this page for updates about this initiative.
