Request for Proposals
In a public media system survey conducted by The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) in September 2010, more than 175 public media stations indicated they are involved in youth engagement initiatives and/or are covering the dropout crisis, and more than 200 stations indicated a desire to expand their work. CPB plans to support that expansion through a multi-year, multi-million dollar investment in a Dropout Awareness and Youth Engagement Initiative that leverages the assets of local and national public media to address this issue.
CPB seeks a Consultant to work with CPB senior management to fully develop and implement CPB's Dropout Awareness & Youth Engagement strategic plan. Consultant will work with the CPB Dropout Awareness & Youth Engagement Initiative Manager (TBA), with public television and radio stations, producers, partner organizations and CPB Education staff. The Consultant will directly manage the implementation and coordination of Initiative components, and will be responsible for managing the Initiative's programmatic elements. As the Initiative develops, the Consultant will work with CPB Senior Vice President of Education and CPB senior management to refine desired outcomes and manage the project evaluation.
The Consultant will be a central point of communication and activation for the Initiative and will oversee the work of Initiative grantees, including, but not limited to, national producers, developers of educational materials and curricula, and the National Center for Media Engagement. Consultant will be responsible for communicating with CPB management regarding ongoing developments, opportunities and challenges that arise throughout the Initiative, and will provide recommendations to management on addressing such opportunities or challenges.
New applications are no longer being accepted. Check this page for updates about this initiative.
