The Corporation for Public Broadcasting ("CPB") intends to fund public television stations to serve as either Demonstration or Mentor sites for the new Ready To Learn initiative called Expanded Learning Through Transmedia Content, under the U.S. Department of Education Ready To Learn grant (No. U295A100025, CFDA No. 84.295A). CPB is currently seeking proposals for stations qualified and interested in participating in this project.
This will include up to 10 National Demonstration Stations, and up to 2 National Mentor Stations.
The Project is expected to begin in July 2011 and to be completed by September 29, 2012 (contingent on annual federal appropriations for the Ready To Learn program). The first three months (July 2011 - September 2011) will be utilized as a planning period, followed by a one-year implementation and execution of the stations' plans.
New applications are no longer being accepted. Check this page for updates about this initiative.
Individuals who missed the May 20 webinar or who would like to review the presentation can do so online.
