Request for Proposals
The Corporation for Public Broadcasting ("CPB") seeks to fund one (1) Transmedia Learning Content Developer to research, design, and execute a plan for creatively integrating Ready To Learn transmedia content (defined herein) into developmentally-appropriate out-of-school learning resources for children ages four to eight and related materials for their educators and families. Resources must align to Ready To Learn's existing math and literacy curriculum frameworks for use in expanded learning settings, especially after-school and summer programs that serve low-income children within the age range mentioned above.
These activities will be funded by CPB with funding provided through the Ready To Learn initiative called Expanded Learning Through Transmedia Content, part of the U.S. Department of Education Ready To Learn grant (No. U295A100025, CFDA No. 84.295A) (ED Grant). The funds provided for this project are subject to and conditional on CPB's receipt of the moneys under the ED Grant. The initial budget period of the ED Grant was September 30, 2010 through September 29, 2011 (Year 1). The current budget period is now September 30, 2011 through September 29, 2012 (Year 2), with three successive annual future budget periods (Years 3 through 5) through September 29, 2015. The budget periods for this project will follow those remaining under the ED Grant.
The scope of the Transmedia Learning Content Developer's work is expected to run through September 29, 2015, when the grant expires. While Expanded Learning Through Transmedia Content is currently funded through September 29, 2012, CPB is awaiting notice of federal funding for the period of September 30, 2012 - September 29, 2013 and beyond.
