Communicating the Value of RTLL:
Effective Internal & External Messages
With Sharyn Sutton, Ph.D.
American Institutes for Research
Welcome to the first Ready to Lead in Literacy Web Seminar for 2007.
An overwhelming 100 participants pre-registered for this event. That shows that there is a great demand for information that will help you on your path to developing a strategy for delivering early childhood literacy services to your communities well beyond Year 3 of this grant. Creating your message is a good place to start. Connecting your work to what is happening at your station, in your community and in your world is also crucial. The buzz we hear is that your work is more important than ever. The National PTA and the National Governors Association among others are talking about Universal PreK; other organizations are moving on the credentialing of child care workers. YOU and your station need to be positioned right at the heart of those opportunities. Creating messages that resonate with the people whose support you seek is just one step along the way. But we think it is an important step.
