2007 Radio Community Service Grants

CPB is opening an application window to consider new station applicants to its Community Service Grant (CSG) program, and is prepared to allow 15 new entrants into the program in FY 2007 (beginning October 1, 2006).

Under current policy, entry to the Radio CSG program is limited to stations that provide the first public radio service to a region or minority stations in certain limited circumstances. Under the new policy recently approved by the CPB Board and scheduled to go into effect at the start of CPB's FY 2007 (October, 2006), eligibility for the CSG program will be significantly expanded. Under the new policy, any station able to meet a specified minimum level of service to its community would be eligible for funding. As is currently the case, stations must also meet a variety of legal, managerial, staffing, and operational criteria as prerequisites for CSG funding.
