Role of the CEO
The CEO is responsible for the overall financial health and operations of station. Working with the Board, the CEO provides overall leadership to ensure Valley PBS’s successful execution of its mission: “Valley PBS enriches, educates and strengthens our diverse Valley community through the power of public service media.”

Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership:

• Inspire, guide and mentor the station’s staff and volunteers.
• Oversees and manages all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the station.
• Navigate Valley PBS through the challenging environment facing public broadcasting and the new global, multi-channel, multi-platform media environment.
• Serve as the liaison with PBS and CPB and informing the Board of important industry and regulatory issues.

2. Financial Management:

• Ensure fiscal responsibility by staff, volunteers, and donors.
• Provide transparency and accountability to all stake holders
• Enhance the financial strength of Valley PBS and broaden the revenue streams of the station.
• Direct the annual budget process so as to ensure that financial targets are met.

3. Community Engagement and Fundraising:

• Cultivate and grow community engagement, fundraising and partnership building.
• Further develop community collaborations and outreach, solidifying Valley PBS as a valued service provider.
• Grow membership and volunteer engagement in all seven counties of the station’s service area.

Compensation & Benefits:
Annual Salary - $120,000-150,000 (depending on experience)
