WNIN-TV/FM

WNIN-TV/FM in Evansville, Indiana, seeks a strong, experienced leader to serve as President and CEO.  WNIN-TV/FM has an annual budget of $2.1 million, 16 full-time and 14 part-time staff members, and approximately $5,000 individual members/contributors.

Major areas of responsibility include development and implementation of effective strategic and tactical planning in coordination with the Board of Directors; oversight of electronic media programming, services, and operations; ensuring sound fiscal planning and budget management; effective staff leadership and supervision; fund development; and serving as the primary liaison to the community and the greater Tri-State area.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant academic discipline, with an advanced degree desirable; a minimum of ten years senior management experience; successful strategic and financial planning, fundraising, and governmental relations experience; exceptional interpersonal and entrepreneurial skills; the ability to inspire and earn the respect of a diverse staff; outstanding written and oral communication skills; a demonstrated commitment to EEO and workplace diversity; personal and professional integrity; understanding and appreciation of the Evansville and Tri-State area, and enthusiasm for being WNIN's principal advocate and public persona.

Primary duties include:

1. Provide leadership to achieve WNIN’s mission and strategic goals, plans and policies to assure the highest quality service to the Tri-State community (Evansville, Indiana with coverage into Kentucky and Illinois).
2. Lead the station’s relationship with the volunteer Board of Directors, Board Committees, and its members.
3. Provide essential fundraising skills with the ability to build relations with, and successfully solicit, major donors, local and national foundations, grants and national underwriters.
4. Develop strong partnerships necessary for successful fundraising, business development and advocacy across the organization, including cultivating city, state and national governmental funding and support and growing the membership base.
5. Represent WNIN’s interests with key national organizations such as Corporation for Public Broadcasting, Association of Public Television Stations, Public Broadcasting Service and the FCC.
6. Lead the development and implementation of a new vision for WNIN that will ensure its long-term viability and success, while adapting to the changing public broadcasting operating model. 
7. Provide oversight and direction of station services and operations and develop policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency, sound financial management, transparency, integrity, and long-range planning, with a focus on employee and leadership development.
8. Guide the process of developing entertaining and educational programming that supports WNIN’s overall mission.
9. Create an atmosphere that encourages collaboration, teamwork, creativity and pride in professional achievement, while managing, directly or through key senior staff members.
10. Ensure efficient use of existing and future resources with regular monitoring of industry trends, technologies, digital distribution platforms and oversee acquisition, implementation, maintenance and replacement of the station’s technologies.
11. Utilize entrepreneurial skills to conceive, develop and grow new services or products, which will support WNIN and its future needs.
12. Ensure compliance with all FCC rules and all regulations pertaining to WNIN’s non-profit 501(c)3 status.

Ideal candidate must have Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant academic discipline, with an advanced degree desirable; a minimum of 10 years senior management experience; successful strategic and financial planning, marketing, fundraising and governmental relations experience; exceptional interpersonal and entrepreneurial skills; the ability to inspire a talented staff and dedicated volunteers; outstanding written and oral communication skills; personal and professional integrity; understanding and appreciation of WNIN and the Evansville, IN and Tri-State area; and enthusiasm for being the face of WNIN as the  principal advocate and “public persona”.
