Required Qualifications
College degree in electronics or related field, or equivalent experience in studio and transmitter maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in installing and maintaining broadcast and transmission equipment, digital audio, broadcast automation, current studio and transmitter technology, and remote control systems. Experience supervising technical personnel is a plus.
Purpose
This position directs and maintains the technical infrastructure at Texas Public Radio and is responsible for the continual operation of TPR’s program streams and network of transmitters, as well as the broadcasting equipment located at the studio. Also responsible for advising management on changing technology, as well as FCC requirements.
Essential Duties
This position will act as the primary contact for emergencies and technical support. This position is considered essential personnel and is on call 24/7 and required to respond in all emergencies.
