News Intern

KUCB

KUCB public radio is seeking applicants for a two-month summer internship at our station in Unalaska, Alaska. Start and end dates are flexible. We're looking for someone to work full-time as a reporter/producer, with opportunities for hosting live news broadcasts and other station duties.

Unalaska is a town of 4000 people in the Aleutian Islands, 800 miles southwest of Anchorage. It's a major North American fishing port and a jumping-off point for offshore drilling and research in the Arctic.

The intern will produce several radio pieces per week on a variety of topics. Our stories air locally, and we also share content with the statewide network, APRN. Previous journalism and radio/audio experience is strongly preferred.

Outside of work hours there are plenty of opportunities for adventure in Unalaska - fishing, boating, hiking etc.

The internship provides basic housing, roundtrip airfare from within the United States and a $2000 stipend.

More information about the station is available at www.kucb.org.
