Director/Executive Director Communications

KQED a leader in public broadcasting is currently seeking an experienced individual to fill the role of Director/Executive Director of Communications. This individual will develop and implement strategies to effectively promote KQED’s multiplatform initiatives including radio, television, and interactive. Leading a team of professionals in the communications field, you will act as the company spokes person and brand czar for KQED and will manage the company messaging strategy. In addition you will be KQED’s chief government strategist, preparing staff for legislative meetings and materials appropriate for community entities.
This is a dynamic role for someone who is both a strategic thinker as well as a hands-on leader. We are seeking individuals with 7-10 years public relations experience preferably in the media industry who has the ability to manage multiple projects at one time. Qualified individuals will have strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work with a variety of different people inside and outside of the organization.
