Producer, Jobs Initiative

CONTRACT

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and manages the functions of production services to include radio broadcast production and web/social media management for the Jobs Initiative programming.
  • Manages and directs the work and daily activities at every stage for all Jobs Initiative programming and projects to ensure a satisfactory final product.
  • Supervises staff to ensure that all contractors, producers, and staff complete assigned work satisfactorily and works to identify qualified personnel for present and proposed projects.
  • Serves as liaison between the Jobs Initiative program and outside agencies, organizations, producers and individuals to implement projects, seek financial support and create business opportunities that generate viable program ideas for the initiative.
  • Evaluates the needs of staff to pursue business opportunities for the project.
  • Assists in the scheduling of facilities, equipment, and personnel for Jobs Initiative projects.
  • Performs editing functions and screens programs and program ideas submitted by independent producers, companies or others for possible creation.
  • Prepares proposed budgets and works with appropriate accounting staff to examine and review the budget for Jobs Initiative projects and productions.
  • Responds to questions and requests for information, prepares routine correspondence, letters or other documents and makes duplicates of programs for clients and potential clients related to the Jobs Initiative project.
  • Prepares and maintains files, records, reports, and documents associated with daily responsibilities of this position.

                                                                             

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business/Public Administration, Telecommunications, Broadcast Engineering, or related field required;
  • Five years of progressively responsible management experience in production, broadcasting, or a related field required; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. 
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Experience producing public radio talk programming and a radio broadcast preferred.
  • Familiarity with web and social media management preferred.

 

This is a CONTRACT position.

Compensation is based on experience.
