Position Overview
Wyoming Public Media Director of Member Services is a management level position that oversees fundraising and member services for the Wyoming state network.
Wyoming Public Media is the 3rd largest state network and the only public radio service in Wyoming. Centered in Laramie, it operates 28 sites covering over 90% of the state. Wyoming Public Media operates four services: Wyoming Public Radio, Classical Wyoming, Jazz Wyoming, and wyomingpublicmedia.org.
Essential Duties
Plan, implement, and coordinate membership development programs for Wyoming Public Media, especially the two major membership campaigns. Solicit gifts and pledges from state wide donors and prospective donors. Obtain revenue, new member, and retention goals. Advance fund raising results in direct mail, telemarketing, on-air, acquisition, web giving, and e-giving. Manage membership calendar. Analyze revenue performance and make recommendations for improvement.
Maintain both current and prospect management records in WPM's specialized fundraising relational database of members, prospects and volunteers. Possess a superior working knowledge of the specialized database. Be the point person for data inquires for analysis, reporting, and development activities. Supervise all activities that utilize donor information. Provide perpetual assessment of data processes. Keep accurate and timely records of membership list use for Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
Develop strategies and write materials for direct mail, telemarketing, on-air, and internet fundraising components. Create effective, focused, compelling pieces including renewal series letters, lapsed letters, acknowledgements, additional gift telemarketing scripts, lapsed telemarketing scripts, e-communications, membership web pages, premium designs, brochures, and other materials as needed.
Identify and coordinate research for prospective membership contributors. Using best practices, conduct acquisition campaigns to grow WPM's membership. Analyze and report on trends and status of donors, locally and nationally. Produce biannual spring and fall fund drive reports. Conduct trend analysis comparing WPM's current performance to past performances. Compare WPM's performance to similar stations nationally utilizing research data and tools.
Manage WPM's membership recognition program. Provide members with premium gifts in a timely manner. Insure all member communications are addressed including financial transactions, correspondence, newsletters, reminders, and general inquiries. Promote and manage special events related to statewide membership solicitation and recognition. Organize or be a co-organizer of events as assigned and planned by WPM. Examples include the presence of NPR and PRI personalities and hosting live performances or broadcasts. Supervise membership development staff, volunteers, and Work-study students in fundraising activities.

This position is required to work some weekends and evenings.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Level Degree and three years of experience in audience development, working with member cultivation, fundraising campaigns, and/or underwriting
Valid Driver's License with a motor vehicle record that is compliant with the University Vehicle Use Policy Found at: http://www.uwyo.edu/auxserv/fleet/Official-Vehicle-Policy/OVP.pdf.
High facility with computer systems, software, and a variety of databases
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills
Strong attention to detail and follow-up
Strong customer relations skills
Desired Qualifications
Two years experience in the Membership department at a public radio station
Strong knowledge of public radio industry fundraising initiatives
Established association with public radio fundraising national organizations
