Radio Station Manager

WBAA-FM / WBAA-AM

Manages all day-to-day operations and administration of radio station WBAA AM & FM including programming, development, marketing and engineering activities. Monitors, controls and plans budget expenditures; supervises staff; and oversees the physical plant.

 
Qualifications
 

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Broadcasting, Management or related field.
  • Five years of experience in public radio management.
  • Significant experience related to fundraising programs and activities.
  • Strong management and leadership abilities along with a track record in developing excellence in programs and staff.
  • Ability to foster a professional, cooperative work environment.
  • Significant knowledge related to fundraising programs, membership programs and community engagement activities.
  • Demonstrated success in attracting private gifts, growing membership or affiliation programs and/or advocating for service-providing organizations with a community.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Ability to effectively work with, prioritize and delegate multiple activities with conflicting demands and hard deadlines.
  • Proficiency with personal computer and related software.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of FCC, NPR, CPB, EEO regulations, guidelines, and standards.
  • Knowledge of underwriting regulations and standards for public radio.
  • Familiarity with broadcast programming, the application of emerging communication technologies and audience analysis.
  • Budget experience.

Additional Information:

  • Weekend and evening work may be required for this position.
  • A Background Check will be required for employment in this position.
  • FLSA:  Exempt (Not Eligible For Overtime)
  • Retirement Eligibility:  Defined Contributions Immediately.
