Reporter/Afternoon Anchor

The public radio service of Western Kentucky University seeks applications for a Reporter/All Things Considered host to join our award-winning news team. This reporter/host will produce and anchor weekday afternoon newscasts, produce news features and interviews, and serve as local host for All Things Considered. 

WKU Public Radio operates four transmitters serving a population of 1.3 million across Kentucky, southern Indiana, and northern Tennessee. Studios and offices are located on the campus of Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY.

The local host for All Things Considered will research, write and deliver on-air afternoon newscasts and other continuity elements; produce features and interviews focusing on issues of importance within the WKU Public Radio coverage area; prepare content for use online and through social media; and work collaboratively with the news staff and content team to develop innovative cross-platform projects and programs.

Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree; demonstrated knowledge of industry best practices in reporting, production, and journalism ethics; strong writing skills; demonstrated on-air skills, including live broadcasts, and an ability to communicate on the air in an engaging manner.
