General Assignment Reporters


General Assignment Reporters. Two General Assignment Reporters to provide in-depth reporting on issues important to our Central Florida listeners. Will produce network-quality long-form news and feature stories, interviews, and spots on a variety of local topics.  S/he will participate in WMFE news series and special coverage. The reporter will also use social media to keep the online audience up to date on news items, and provide blog posts and online content for WMFE.ORG. Will also serve as backup host for all news programs.  Responsibilities include writing and delivering local newscasts, introducing local features, and hosting all other local breaks during Morning Edition and All Things Considered as needed.  S/he will run the board and perform all production duties for the shift.  This is a great opportunity to flex your hosting and journalistic muscles, while working with other talented journalists in a collaborative newsroom environment! Must possess, or be able to obtain, a valid Florida Driver’s license, proof of personal auto insurance at a level acceptable to WMFE’s auto insurance provider, and a driving record that is acceptable to WMFE’s auto insurance provider.
