Coordinator, Custom Services

StoryCorps

Department: Business Development Division: Finance & Administration Location: Brooklyn, NY Reports To: Custom Services Manager, Business Development Status: Full-Time, Regular, Exempt

Position Overview

The Business Development Department is comprised of two StoryCorps functions: Corporate Partnerships and Custom Services. The goals of both functions are: 1) to generate revenue, and 2) to further the mission by choosing mission-appropriate projects and increasing exposure of StoryCorps.

Custom Services makes StoryCorps programs available to communities outside of our grant-funded work, primarily by setting up interview recording days with organizations that sponsor StoryCorps events for their communities. Corporate Partnerships works with for-profit institutions through financial sponsorships of StoryCorps programs and the NPR broadcast.

The Custom Services Coordinator’s primary responsibility will be planning interview-recording days with partner organizations, starting with marketing and outreach and continuing through event management and follow-up. The Coordinator will be a key member of the four-person department, and contribute to a variety of projects including brochure updates, database management, and administrative support for all aspects of the department’s work. The Coordinator reports to the Custom Services Manager.

StoryCorps records, shares, and preserves stories from a diverse range of American voices – from our Griot Initiative to preserve stories of African Americans, to our Historias Initiative to collect the experiences of Latinos. Candidates with work experience in diverse communities are strongly encouraged to apply.

Excellent benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, Flexible Spending Accounts, 403(b) Retirement Savings Plan, Employee Assistance Plan, pre-tax transit benefits, and paid time off (vacation, sick leave, personal days, and holidays).
