Marketing Manager, Underwriting

The right individual will be a key contributor in developing competitive and persuasive sales and marketing solutions, including creative integrated marketing programs and sales content along with developing and managing all trade marketing.  This position involves sales and client support, project management, execution, and reporting.  Brand direction will be given by the Director of Marketing for the Marketing Manager to apply to the sales environment.

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Participate in regular meetings with internal NYPR teams and leadership to discuss upcoming opportunities and identify potential sponsorship opportunities to share with the sales team
  • Partner with sales team to develop creative proactive marketing strategies to present to clients and agencies
  • Oversee the planning and implementation of large-scale sponsored events across NYPR platforms and initiatives.
  • Be champions of the internal process to drive collaboration and build strong relationships and work closely across all internal teams to procure sold sponsorships
  • Establish, expand and deepen relationships with direct clients and contribute to revenue growth of key accounts through smart strategy
    • Develop high quality, brand/client based presentations & creative marketing tools
    • Independently manage and ensure that all elements of advertising programs are implemented in an accurate and timely manner, develop and present recap reports for clients
    • Provide thought leadership and brand focused expertise in developing insights, briefs and marketing programs that meet client objectives
    • Communicate creative direction to internal marketing team and/or external vendors and manage client review/approval process from custom mock ups, through final execution of campaign
    • Serve as the key communicator and connection point between the sales and the support organizations
    • Compile data resources (users, demographics, comparisons, research, etc.) 
    • Coordinate execution of all sales related events

Qualifications

 

  • Expert knowledge of the digital and broadcast advertising industry with 5+ years of experience in media sales, marketing, or consumer advertising
  • Proven experience in developing strategic, creative, innovative and effective proposals and marketing materials for an advertising sales team
  • Keen interest in tracking consumer trends and behavior to identify new sales prospects and strategies
  • Ability to synthesize research and data to identify insights that help overcome objections and support  revenue generation
  • Ability to build strong relationships with partners and internal team members
    Self-motivated, driven, organized, detail oriented, able to multi-task and excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to translate programming concepts into viable sponsorship opportunities to sell
  • Experience utilizing syndicated research, including Arbitron, Scarborough, ComScore, etc
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent PowerPoint, Keynote, Photoshop, and Excel skills
  • Some travel on occasion may be required (less than 10-20% of the time)
