WMHT seeks an experienced professional to manage the production of original video content for WMHT’s television stations, its online presence and associated social media, and for outside clients.

 

Reporting to the Executive Vice President, the Vice President will manage a group of creative professionals, build important relationships with other community institutions, and foster an environment of public service all in support of WMHT’s Strategic Plan.

 

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in developing and implementing programs and services in television or allied media, successfully leading and managing within a creative environment, a commitment to the mission of public broadcasting and the ability to communicate a compelling vision to a diverse group of constituents.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Leads creative team of producers, directors, journalists, new media professionals and production artists in the creation of video content.
• Provides overall creative and editorial supervision. Ensures all content meets the highest ethical, professional, editorial and creative standards.
• Supervises WMHT client production department which provides production service for hire.
• Leads online/social media staff to exploit multi-platform opportunities
• Sets departmental goals and goals for individual staff members.  Monitors and evaluates progress to ensure success.
• Manages departmental budget including mid and long range planning, annual budgeting and development of individual project budgets.
• Assists in capital planning and equipment assessment and selection.
• Works with other departments including Development, Underwriting and Finance in resource development and post-production reporting
• Works to integrate vibrant Education and Community Engagement elements into each production

 

Qualifications

• Demonstrated progressively responsible experience in program development and production.
• Experience in leading and supervising a creative team
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Knowledge of broadcasting rules and regulation
