TV Traffic Media Coordinator

Title:	TV Traffic Media Coordinator

Reports To:	TV Traffic Operations Manager

 

1. BROAD FUNCTION

 

The candidate will be responsible for reviewing television content, ensuring quality standards are met, and then coordinate delivery of content for air.  Knowledge of television operations, automation and video production are required.

 

The successful candidate must be able to work effectively with multiple departments at the station to communicate and ensure delivery of content according to air deadlines.  

 

2. SPECIFIC OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

 

• Coordinate delivery of content for air.
• Review air schedules before exporting to automation.
• Review record schedule before exporting to automation.
• Maintains program archives.
• Prepping media for air.
• Assist with creation of on-air promotional items.
• Coordinate delivery of WMHT productions to NYS stations.

• Maintains working knowledge of tools and equipment specific to job responsibilities; attend training sessions as assigned.

 

3. GENERAL RESPONSILITIES

 

• Proactively working within the Traffic Department to fulfill the delivery of television schedules and associated content for air.

 

 

4. REQUIREMENTS

 

• Bachelor degree in broadcasting, radio/TV communications, or related field and/or minimum of four year years’ experience in television traffic/operations.
• Must be a team player that can also work independently.
• Must have a demonstrated knowledge of non-linear edit systems.
• Ability to organize and present ideas effectively to improve work procedures.
• Must have the ability to maintain composure under stressful situations, make clear judgement calls and deliver content on schedule.
• Strong PC computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook. (Windows XP/7/8)
• A valid New York State driver’s license and good driving record is required for all WMHT positions.
• Commitment to the mission and goals of public broadcasting.
• Demonstrated technical skill in professional field.
• Ability to maintain a flexible schedule.
