- BROAD FUNCTION
This candidate will be responsible for the data input of underwriting contracts into the traffic system and assist in the creation and delivery of WMHT’s TV program schedules, while providing support for related programming, traffic and sales responsibilities. Knowledge of television traffic operations is a pre-requisite for this position.
Candidate must be able to work effectively with multiple departments at the station to communicate and ensure accurate data for the creation of the air schedules.
- SPECIFIC OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Data input of underwriting contracts, ensuring accuracy
- Placement of underwriting elements to WMHT secondary channels
- Communicating missing media to sales staff
- Scheduling underwriting media as outlined by sales staff
- Scheduling interstitial fill on WMHT secondary channels
- Preparing as-run reports as needed.
- Preparing Nielsen reports
- Scheduling and preparing EAS reports
- Maintain physical program archive
- Assisting with viewer inquiries
- Supporting TV Traffic Operations Manager with preparation of all on-air schedules
- Maintains working knowledge of tools and equipment specific to job responsibilities; attend training sessions as assigned
- GENERAL RESPONSILITIES
- Proactively working within the Traffic Department to create on-air schedules and maintain underwriting contracts.
- REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor degree in broadcasting, radio/TV communications, or related field and/or minimum of two years’ experience in television traffic/operations.
- Must be a team player that can also work independently.
- Ability to organize and present ideas effectively to improve work procedures.
- Must have the ability to maintain composure under stressful situations, make clear judgement calls and keen attention to detail.
- Strong PC computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook. (Windows XP/7/8)
- A valid New York State driver’s license and good driving record is required for all WMHT positions.
- Commitment to the mission and goals of public broadcasting.
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule.
