Manager, Corporate Underwriting

Responsibilities:

  • Retain and cultivate a current client list for repeat business
  • Develop new business with key target accounts for NYPR including WNYC,WQXR, Digital properties and The Greene Space
  • Obtain meetings with key decision makers at NY Metro area agencies and corporations
  • Conduct client needs analyses and deliver customized presentations
  • Create on-air and digital proposals for current and potential clients utilizing research, scheduling system, powerpoint
  • Familiarity with audience research and developing compelling rationale to include in client presentations
  • Maintain a CRM and pending business program managing personal performance to individual budget goals
  • Attendance at client managed events and ability to work extended hours as needed
  • Achieve monthly. quarterly and annual sales budgetary goals
  • Work with New York Public Radio counsel to obtain on air and digital copy approval
  • Stay abreast of market trends and competitive activity in commercial radio, public radio and online media sales
  • Comply with all New York Public Radio department policies and guidelines

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 5 years of media sales experience required; radio and/or public television preferred including digital sales
  • Strong customer needs focused sales skills – training a plus
  • Knowledge of digital media and digital landscape
  • Affinity for non-profit public media and New York Public Radio WNYC and WQXR
  • Excellent customer service and cultivation skills
  • Goal oriented, accountable, self motivated, driven, team player
  • Requires prior experience building and maintaining professional relationships with both internal and external contacts
  • Experience in engaging business owners, agency decision-makers and marketers
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office including Outlook and PowerPoint…Tapscan and WideOrbit experience preferred

  • Use of a computer, telephone and other office and/or broadcast equipment; ability to communicate effectively through a variety of methods  including but not limited to; Microsoft Office software, internet based applications for internal and external communications
  • Affinity for New York Public Radio; WNYC and/or WQXR content and mission a plus
