Corporate Support Specialist
WEKU radio seeks a motivated and outgoing Corporate Support Specialist to join our team of public radio professionals, recruiting new and maintaining existing underwriting support from the business community. This position works with businesses outside the University to identify, solicit, and secure corporate underwriting agreements with corporate donors for WEKU radio, plan the station fundraising calendar in collaboration with the Station Management, schedules and executes on-air fund drives and solicits challenge funds and other gifts, and assists in the planning and execution of special events for station fundraising and community engagement.
Ideal candidate is highly organized, shows initiative and has excellent communications skills. Bachelor’s degree in music, communications or related field and one year of related work experience is required or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities. Prior experience with public radio or media is desired as is demonstrated success in advertising or underwriting sales. This position requires in-depth knowledge of principles and practices within a professional field or recognized body of knowledge and a working knowledge of the practical issues in related areas, including: knowledge of public radio and experience with listener-focused on air fundraising.
