Position Overview

Under the direct supervision of the Co-Producer, Animation, the Coordinating Producer, Content Distribution will assist StoryCorps' Station Relations and Promotions Consultant to market and promote StoryCorps Animation to public television stations for broadcast and on their websites and social media. The Coordinating Producer, Content Distribution will also be responsible for tracking usage, running reports, developing strategies for increasing distribution to public media and other platforms, managing our film festival submission process, and assisting with engagement campaigns as directed by the Co-Producer.

StoryCorps seeks to tell stories from an inclusive range of American voices — from our Griot Initiative to preserve stories of African Americans, to our Historias Initiative to collect the experiences of Latinos — and candidates with knowledge of the histories and cultures of diverse communities are encouraged to apply. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Liaise with Station Relations and Promotions Consultant to solicit, track, and report on carriage of our animated shorts

Provide stations and Consultant with relevant marketing materials to promote shorts to stations

Work with Consultant and StoryCorps Marketing & Communications department to develop marketing materials to promote shorts to stations

Prepare animation carriage reports for Animation and Executive teams, as well as funders

Draft correspondence to stations to communicate relevant news and information about our shorts

Act as primary contact to stations for assets, materials, and information related to the shorts

Work with IT to maintain the StoryCorps stations page

Manage film festival submission process, including tracking and liaising with film festival staff

Manage and execute requests to feature our shorts in community engagement events coordinating with external partners as necessary

Perform other duties to support Animation department/function as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications

Required:

Minimum of 3 years experience in public television, with a focus on programming and promotion work strongly preferred

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Familiarity with public media landscape

Experience in a collaborative, team-based setting

Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

Solid organization skills, multi-tasking ability, and attention to detail

Ability to be flexible and adaptable in order to contribute to problem-solving activities within a growing, changing organization

Cultural competence and the ability to work successfully with diverse groups of people
