On-Air Fundraising Producer

WMHT

WMHT seeks an experienced professional to coordinate the planning and production of its on-air television and radio fundraising campaigns. Reporting to the Vice President, Production, the On-Air Fundraising Producer will identify and implement fundraising themes, help establish monetary goals, create on-air talking points, write scripts, create graphics, select premiums, and coach on-air talent. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in television and/or radio production, will understand non-profit funding models, will have thrived within a creative environment, and have a strong commitment to the mission of public media.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Plans and produces all on-air fundraising activities on WMHT-TV, WMHT-FM and WEXT-FM

• Identifies message points, strategies and themes

• Must demonstrate an ability to passionately articulate the case for supporting public television and public radio

• Writes scripts for television and radio fundraising campaigns including messaging before, during and after each effort

• Creates graphics and other production elements that will be seen and/or heard on the air and in complimentary media

• Selects premiums and negotiates with vendors on pricing and fulfillment

• Develops new fundraising opportunities

Qualifications

• Previous experience in television and/or radio production with knowledge of broadcast operations, television and/or radio editing software

• Previous Development and marketing experience preferred

• Must possess coaching skills in directing on-air talent in pre-produced and live settings

• Excellent time-management

• National quality writing and interviewing abilities are essential

• Ability to appear on-the-air is a plus

• An outgoing personality

• Must be able to work a flexible schedule which includes working multiple nights, early mornings and weekends

• Non-standard working hours are guaranteed.
