Digital Producer and Designer
New Hampshire Public Radio
As a member of the Digital Team, the Digital Producer and Designer plays a key role in managing news and information on NHPR's website, NHPR.org, as well as on associated social media and mobile platforms. The Digital Producer and Designer also works with Programming, News, Underwriting and Development & Marketing to create original graphics to represent data and information, underwriting ads and NHPR's content and branding initiatives. This position requires a thorough understanding of web technologies, including managing content in Drupal, and photo, sound and video editing. The Digital Producer and Designer works with reporters and other content makers to present NHPR's journalism in a meaningful and engaging way and works to share content through digital channels, including social media, mobile applications and podcast platforms. This position reports to the Digital Director.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, design or related field
• Experience maintaining a news and information website
• Experience editing photos, audio and video
• Demonstrated editorial judgment and writing skills
• Familiarity with AP Style, digital and journalistic best practices
• Ability to create and update web pages
• Proficiency with SEO techniques, including on social media
• Ability to contribute to multiple social media accounts
• Knowledge of web tools including CSS, HTML and Flash
• Experience working with technical consultants and technology vendors
• Proficient in MSOffice programs such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience with Drupal preferred; advanced knowledge of Drupal highly desirable
• Ability to use web-based tools to translate data into visually appealing infographics, maps and charts
• Ability to use and interpret web metrics
