Program Manager, Veterans Training Programs (Full-time)

CONTRACT: One-year full-time assignment with benefits; contract renewal based on continued funding

JOB SUMMARY: Develop, coordinate and manage all vocational training services, targeting veterans and adult learners for the Connecticut Public Broadcasting Network (CPBN). The position will have primary responsibility for overseeing day-to-day program operations; managing workforce development; recruitment; staff supervision; student retention and engagement; reporting; and supporting fundraising initiatives. Candidate must be able to communicate with veterans, business leaders and executives, other media outlets and the various constituencies CPBN serves, as well as provide program recruitment support for post-9/11 veterans, families and caregivers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Meet annual employment placement targets; cultivate business and industry partnerships to support internship and employment placements

•Manage and provide program support for recruiting adult learners, with an emphasis on post-9/11 veterans, families and caregivers

•Create proposals and assist in funding veterans' initiatives while working collaboratively with all other departments within the network

•Attend meetings as a liaison for CPBN with partners in the Veterans Affairs Office and other partnering agencies

•Conduct recruitment and employment placement activities

•Follow labor market trends to identify high-growth industries and job placement opportunities

•Oversee the Veterans Training Internship Program (at CPBN and other employment sites)

•Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

•Bachelors' degree preferred, with at least three years of experience in education, training, broadcasting and/or program development and administration

•Honorably Discharged Veteran of the Armed Forces of the United States or strong military experience preferred

•Solid connections to the business community to fulfill employer hiring needs

•Interest in providing direction, leadership and guidance to job seekers

•Ability to maintain accurate documentation to support funding reports, grants and guidelines

•Possess and understand the importance of being a visionary thinker along with the ability to grow programs to scale

•Proven effectiveness working with adult learners and sound administration experience is a must

•Experience in developing and implementing start-up programs with expertise in curriculum development and project design

•Excellent communication and writing skills

•Demonstrated experience using educational technology as a training tool

•Strong knowledge of new media technologies; Adobe® Creative Suite is a plus

•Ability to understand and articulate CPBN's vision for providing media integration initiatives as part of its role in supporting the region's educational community
