Corporate Underwriting Representative

WHYY seeks a goal-oriented sales professional for the position of Corporate Underwriting Representative. Responsibilities of the Corporate Underwriting Representative include cultivating and soliciting corporate support from Philadelphia area businesses and agencies for TV, radio, web and production sponsorship; prospecting new leads and generating new revenue opportunities; maintaining a strong relationship with underwriters and other investors after agreements are solidified and signed. Further responsibilities include managing all levels of corporate relations that include underwriting, corporate pledges, matching gifts and venue rentals. The ideal candidate for this position should have a minimum of two to three years of sales experience in the media industry, in which they have demonstrated their use of the skills needed to succeed. These skills include excellent written and verbal communication, necessary in order to effectively communicate with potential and existing underwriters in-person, over-the-phone, and via written correspondence, as well as senior level knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite. All candidates should have a four year college degree in marketing or a related field or the equivalent professional experience, be willing to travel, able to work flexible hours, and have the temperament to work in a high-pressure environment and to cope with the highs and lows inherent to a sales position.
