Homegrown: Religion in U.S. Prisons
The U.S. Department of Justice recently announced the indictment of several members of a radical Islamist group who planned attacks on California military installations and synagogues. Members of the group had converted to Islam in Folsom State Prison, where they joined a terror cell. This one-hour documentary investigates the Folsom terror cell and asks whether the U.S. penal system is fostering "homegrown" terror cells composed of inmates who convert to Islam. The film explores Saudi funding of Wahhabi literature that is used in U.S. prisons and jails and the large number of prison converts to Islam.
