Craft in America

This three-part series of one-hour programs explores the vitality, history, and significance of the craft movement in the United States. Using both historical context and living artists, viewers are brought into a world where people are inspired to make things by hand whether for practical or artistic purposes. The program builds on the resurgent public interest and the popularity of, for example, quilts to expand the viewer's understanding of what constitutes the tradition of crafts and how the handmade reflects American culture.
