China from the Inside (formerly Mind of China)

A series of four one-hour episodes about China's history and its place in the modern world. The series examines the problems of governing this vast and disparate country; China's history and move toward a market economy; the conflict between ecological concerns and the imperative to feed and provide work for the huge population; the changing role of the family; and personal freedom and human rights. The project is a co-production with KQED/San Francisco, in association with Kostyk Communications, Inc.
