Dissonance & Harmony (aka Arabic Music in America)

A group of top Arab singers visits the United States for the first time under the direction of Miles Copeland, who has managed internationally acclaimed performers Sting, The Police, The Moody Blues, REM, and The Go-Go's, among others. The film chronicles the artists' visits, focusing on their hopes and dreams, but also on the fears of leaving their home countries to travel to the U.S. during these post-9/11 times. The film will be broadcast in both the U.S. and Middle East. A key figure in the film will be Copeland himself, a colorful personality and energetic dealmaker, who sees Arab music as an important way to help bridge differences by showing Arabs and American performance stars and audiences demonstrating mutual respect for one another's cultures.
