WNET will conduct research and development to assess the viability and financial sustainability of a Spanish-language channel available for digital multicasting by public television stations. More than 30 public television stations, reaching more than half of the nation's Hispanic households, have expressed interest in carrying and cobranding a Spanish-language public television service to deliver content to an underserved demographic group in their communities.
