Cities of Light: The Rise and Fall of Islamic Spain
A two-hour special on the rise and fall of de facto pluralism in medieval Spain and the creation of a society that was a part of both Christian Europe and the Muslim Middle East. The documentary will examine the period 700 to 1492, when a synergy of cultural development and economic growth resulted from the interaction of Christians, Muslims, and Jews, their languages and communities, and how it all ended.
