My City Now

An outreach program focusing on creating awareness and new audiences for PBS rebroadcasts of Los Angeles Now during Hispanic Heritage Month. The project brings high school students and senior citizens together in selected cities to talk about the past, present, and future of where they live using clips from the film and "future filmmaker" workshops. Graduates of the "future filmmaker" series will participate in a My City Now contest by submitting a three-minute video essay telling the story of their city. The shortlisted videos will be streamed online and the winner selected by Web-site visitors.
