Condolences to the Family of Walter Sheppard
That the Board of Directors of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting expresses its heartfelt condolences to the family of
veteran public radio general manager and champion of public broadcasting. We remember with gratitude Mr. Sheppard's work to advance the mission of public broadcasting, including his years of service at WITF in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, WBUR in Boston, Massachusetts, and the West Virginia Educational Broadcasting Authority. We are deeply grateful for Mr. Sheppard's 21 years of service at the Public Telecommunications Facilities Program in its work to support public broadcasting stations.
The Board extends its deepest sympathies to the Sheppard family.

We remember with gratitude the contributions of Lillie Herndon, who worked to advance the educational mission of public broadcasting at the national and local levels.
Lillie Herndon was the recipient of NPR's Distinguished Service award and was recognized by American Women in Radio and Television. As CPB Board Chair, she advocated to Congress on behalf of public broadcasting and highlighted the importance of a CPB Board that is geographically and ethnically diverse. She also served on the Board of Directors of PBS.

We remember with gratitude the contributions of Pat Fitzgerald, who worked to advance the mission of public broadcasting through a career spanning four decades.
Pat Fitzgerald served 21 years as general manager at WBGU-TV, championing the importance of educational content on public television and guiding the station's conversion through the digital transition. He served two terms on the PBS Board of Directors. He also helped found the Small Station Association, giving a greater voice to the needs and accomplishments of our nation's small-market public television stations.
The Board extends its deepest sympathies to the Fitzgerald family.
