Senior Editor, Investigations

The Public’s Radio seeks a Senior Editor, specializing in investigative journalism, to join its growing newsroom covering Rhode Island and the South Coast of Massachusetts. Long-form enterprise and investigative reporting are central to the station’s commitment to local journalism. The Senior Editor reports to the Chief Content Officer. This is a full-time, grant-funded position with benefits to begin in the fall of 2020.

Ideally we’d like to hire someone who has experience conceiving and editing stories about race and identity. Experience covering Black Lives Matter and policing is a plus.

Position Overview:


WFIU/WTIU News is the largest public media newsroom in Indiana. We are searching for an experienced journalist to serve as our Senior News Editor.

The primary duty of the Senior Editor is to manage the daily flow of news content. Oversees the production and editing of news stories for daily broadcast and online, and also serves as a news content contributor. The Senior Editor is a professional journalist who ensures adherence to journalistic guidelines and practices and the department’s performance using these principles as guidelines.

The Accounting Assistant maintains excellent working knowledge of overall corporate accounting functions for VPM Media Corporation and the Virginia Foundation for Public Media.  This position establishes and ensures compliance with appropriate accounting policies, procedures and practices.  S/he assists with preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and preparing management reports.  
Responsibilities
•    Assists Chief Financial Officer in developing, documenting and ensuring compliance with appropriate accounting policies, procedures, controls and practices. 


VPM is looking for a Director, Multi-Platform & Distribution Strategy.  We’re looking for someone who understands metrics across platforms and who can develop strategies to increase and diversify VPM’s audience. This position oversees the Director of TV Programming, the managers of VPM.org and has matrix responsibilities over digital personnel embedded in content teams. Reporting directly to the Chief Content Officer, this person will serve as a key partner to VPM’s senior team, providing insight on audience trends and emerging platforms.


The Executive Editor, Multimedia News (EE, Multimedia News) is an experienced journalist and leader who will help guide, grow and strengthen VPM’s news presence across platforms.  The EE, Multimedia News supervises the news department, and leads and manages the planning, production and presentation of news across television, radio and digital. Building and growing our web, social media and TV news presence is a top priority.  This role reports directly to the Chief Content Officer and works in cooperation with VPM’s leadership and staff to support VPM’s mission.
