KOTO Radio, a noncommercial, non-underwritten community radio station in the beautiful San Juan mountains of Southwest Colorado is hiring a part-time reporter. This person will contribute to daily news coverage and public affairs programming and will focus primarily on covering news in rural communities in the greater Telluride region. The responsibilities of this position include pitching news stories, pursuing news tips and leads, writing scripts and producing content for both on-air and online platforms. Journalism background or experience covering community news is preferred.

Purpose/General Description of Position:

KCUR 89.3, Kansas City’s NPR affiliate, seeks a journalist to investigate responses to social problems in underserved communities throughout the metropolitan area.

This is a newly created, two-year, grant-funded position with the possibility of renewal.

Like all American cities, Kansas City was built on public policies and informal practices that neglected or were intentionally hostile to certain communities, many of whom still live with the social, environmental, economic, health, safety and other legacies of discriminatory policies.
