Job Description:

The Marketing Manager leads the execution of marketing and communications campaign plans and organizational initiatives. This role champions consistent messaging, aligns resources, tracks deliverables and uses data and analytics to benchmark success while demonstrating CPM’s values of integrity, community, innovation and diversity.

Salary Range: $90,000-$102,500 annually

  • Support the Director of Marketing and Communications in building strategy and executing projects and campaigns
  • Manage Email and Digital Marketing Specialist, MarComm Managing Editor and KCTS 9 Social Media Editor 
  • Manage digital marketing agency and resources to drive traffic to CPM websites 
  • Use self-service ad tools to conduct campaigns on various social and video platforms
  • Coordinate campaigns with design, video, social media, philanthropy, events and editorial teams 
  • Ensure consistent messaging across all channels for a seamless digital experience and reporting process
  • Develop organizational e-mail marketing growth strategy and optimize e-mail customer journey
  • Develop digital content and social media strategy
  • Lead the maintenance of trade media relationships and execution of contractual agreements
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with senior management and community partners 
  • Maintain calendar and tracking documentation of on-going Marcom activities, execute synergy plans for on-air time, the Viewer Guide, social media and digital marketing; coordinate with other teams as needed 
  • Secures placement of outside media (paid and earned)
  • Clearly communicates deadlines and expectations 
  • Coordinate with Data and Analytics team for campaign benchmarking and adjust tactics based on reporting
  • Develop and track marketing and communications budgets in association with each project or campaign
  • Track deliverables for campaign plans to ensure high quality work 
  • Submit creative briefs for design and video assets as needed
  • Manage special projects as assigned by the Director of Marketing & Communications
  • Collaborate with other team members to foster a positive and productive culture and contribute toward the overall growth of the CPM

  • Five years of experience managing cross-functional projects preferred
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze information and make sound decisions
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills including copywriting and copy editing 
  • Outstanding attention to detail and creative judgment
  • Ability to manage through change in dynamic media industry environment 
  • Experience with CRM and email platforms; Salesforce and Marketing Cloud preferred


  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Business, Marketing, or Communications) or equivalent experience required
  • Five years of experience in marketing and communications related field required
  • Three years of hiring, management and supervisory experience required
  • Experience developing and executing marketing and communications plans required
  • Experience developing and executing e-mail marketing touchpoints in digital ecosystem required 


  • Ability to view data on a computer screen for long periods of time
  • Ability to type on a keyboard for long periods of time
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
