National Audience Development & Station Marketing (NAD & SM) consists of Station Relations and National Marketing, targeting station executives and media outlets to build an audience, impact, and visibility for GBH’s public television broadcasts, digital content, and community initiatives. The department’s strategic campaigns, outreach, collateral, and events created for internal and external clients contribute to GBH’s national brand and help achieve project and institutional goals.


The Account Executive works closely with the Senior and Associate Directors of NAD/SM to maintain and expand the team’s services and projects, creating and implementing campaigns and initiatives that increase each project’s visibility, awareness, audience, and value across traditional and digital platforms.   

The Account Executive is responsible for day-to client relations and campaign implementation. They will create and distribute various communications and digital offerings to stations, partners, and other stakeholders. On select projects, coordinating with external PR agencies or managing media outreach is also involved.  Proactive collaboration with production teams, external stakeholders, and GBH constituents (leadership, Sponsorship, Research, Education, and Digital) is expected. Some travel/weekend work to be required.

  • Contributes to the creation of campaign strategies, collateral, and messages
  • Implementation of campaign strategies day to day, in collaboration with department staff, clients, and colleagues
  • Building strong relationships with public television, radio, and joint license station executives
  • Reporting and outreach to clients, bloggers, and PBS- Financial accountability - Event planning and production


  • Minimum of 2 – 4 years of relevant progressively complex work experience in marketing, pitching, curating content for collateral, and social media
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills and the ability to execute multiple projects within the same timeframe, executing fast-moving, detailed projects on time and within budget
  • Excellent organizational and communications skills are required
  • Ability to prioritize and juggle many tasks, often under a deadline, while remaining detail-oriented.
  • Working collaboratively with an aptitude for cultivating positive relationships is essential,
  • Excellent writing, spelling, and proof-reading skills are required
  • Basic social media and list management knowledge


Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
