DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The GBH Educational Foundation (GBH) is a vibrant public media powerhouse that enriches people’s lives through programs and services that educate, inspire, and entertain – fostering citizenship and culture, the joy of learning, and the power of diverse perspectives. The Development Division is responsible for raising funds from individuals and institutions and includes four areas of focus, including: Major Gifts, Annual Giving, Gift Planning & Endowment, and Foundation Development. It plays a vital role in helping to finance broadcast, video, digital, and audio programs, including celebrated dramas, investigative journalism, documentaries, children’s media and educational resources, podcasts, and other local and national programming in the public media system. The Operations team within the division plays a critical role in streamlining processes, leveraging technology, and providing essential support services that enable the department to effectively cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors and foundations supporting GBH.
JOB OVERVIEW
Reporting to and working closely with the Director of Development Operations, the Development Associate (DA) provides administrative, data management, and project management support to the Development Division. This position is located in Boston, MA, and requires on-site presence.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage and execute gift processing. Provide revenue allocation to Finance; send gift memos to alert various departments of new gifts and pledges; enter gifts into CRM system, RevCRM; review and approve pledge forms and gift acknowledgements.

Track and report on Major Gifts and Gift Planning and Endowment (GP&E) revenue. Manage suite of existing reports and partner with colleagues to develop new ad-hoc reports as needed for various internal and external stakeholders to track revenue and activity.

Coordinate donor email communications to major donors and members of GBH’s planned giving patron program, the Great Blue Hill Society. Partner with the Major Gifts and GP&E teams to design the communications in our mass email tool, Iterable and manage the communication schedule in conjunction with other email producers across the Foundation.

Maintain webpages for major giving programs.

Analyze website and email metrics to recommend efficiencies and opportunities for strategic action.

Act as secondary point of contact for Finance, Accounting, and Legal teams regarding all gifts and pledges, and assist with revenue reconciliation.

Assist with the design of new staff onboarding trainings and run ad-hoc training sessions related to major gift and gift planning processes and data management.

Provide end user support to divisional staff on all systems and act as resource and make recommendations to support staff on data management and operational workflows.

Maintain data integrity and perform data hygiene projects as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
- 2 plus years of experience in a professional setting, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and FileMaker Pro applications is required, as well as experience with online Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) tools.

Hybrid position: Currently required to be in office Tuesdays and Wednesdays but must be available for more days as needed.
