Job Description:

Our ideal candidate for this position is someone who loves pursuing daily stories and breaking news but who can also tackle long-form storytelling. We're looking for someone with an enterprising attitude and an affinity for serious-issue journalism for which NPR and its member stations are known. Anchoring experience (or a desire to cultivate anchoring skills) is a plus. So is having a conversational on-air sound that works for public broadcasting. Additional pluses include experience covering energy and the environment, medical/health or climate change.

Houston is one of the most dynamic local news markets anywhere, offering the chance to do broadcast and digital stories that can be told with lots of rich sound, photos and videos. Your stories will often be of state and national interest to our public broadcasting partners.

If you think you’d be a good fit, and if you have an on-air sound that works for public broadcasting, apply now. We need you.
