Programming and Continuity Assistant
PBS Kansas is seeking a detail-oriented, accuracy-driven individual to work in PBS Kansas’ programming, traffic and continuity areas.
Potential for growth into Director of Programming position within 1-2 years.
Use industry-standard Protrack broadcast scheduling software to schedule station breaks on PBS Kansas’ channels; add to and modify PBS Kansas program schedules, schedule recordings and create flights that place spots in PBS Kansas program logs.
Schedule and record programs for air on all channels.
Must become familiar with content and structure of station breaks in order to schedule for PBS Kansas and its sub-channels.
Must be able to navigate multiple web-based resources to locate and download promotional and program materials.
Must be able to manage large quantities of digital media.
Must be able to learn and apply FCC rules and regulations to KPTS and outside produced materials.
Solid English writing skills and good spelling a must. Must be competent in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel.
Create and package short and long form videos using video editing software like Final Cut Pro™ and Premiere Pro™ in conjunction with Photoshop™ and Illustrator™, to create program promotions and other station announcements.
Must be able to understand digital video and use video encoding software for broadcast and web.
