    Under the direct supervision of the Executive Producer, the Multimedia Producer/Host is responsible for the hosting of and production of high-quality content for a daily interactive multiplatform experience. The ideal candidate has an excellent voice with the ability to sound both conversational and authoritative in his/her delivery. This position requires strong multimedia (audio, visual, digital, live-event and social media) reporting, producing and hosting experience. Candidate must have the proven ability to research, write and conduct in-studio interviews and produce field packages, as well as organize the personnel, equipment, and facilities required to create them within a set budget and on deadline. Additionally, candidate must be able to conduct and facilitate pre-recorded and live interviews, as well as moderate live debates and town hall-type discussions with audience interaction. The types of content produced will be a mixture of hard and soft news, politics and public affairs, and features (arts & entertainment, human interest, etc.). The Multimedia Producer/Host will be required to create additional content specifically for online use and provide updates to viewers using social media. NEPM also seeks to tell the stories of and allow expression of the diversity of voices that make up our entire community.


    • Work with the Executive Producer on the overall planning of show content and direction (e.g. - special series, etc.).

    • Will collaborate with colleagues at WGBH News in Boston on shared stories with both East and West Massachusetts appeal.

    • Oversee the activities of the production team in the creation of content.

    • Responsible for fulfilling contracts or agreements connected with any given production.

    • Responsible for the management of production resources within the authorized budget.

    • Partner with Executive Producer in directing the work of other team members as needed.

    • Stay informed as to the status of station activities and cooperate with all departments.

    • Participate in station Membership Drives, Special Events and other community events and/or activities assigned.

    • Communicates and behaves in a way that is free from discrimination, intolerance or harassment when interacting with co-workers, colleagues and clients.

    • Other reasonable related duties as assigned by the Executive Producer.


    • Have a confident, open and energetic on-air presence and exceptional interviewing skills.

    • Experience working to daily deadlines while simultaneously working on long range projects.

    • Have a strong news sense, investigative reporting skills, and track record of generating original, captivating and newsworthy stories.

    • Must adhere to strict journalistic ethics to ensure the production of unbiased content.

    • Must have excellent writing, proofing, and editing skills and the ability to shoot and edit video.

    • Ability to facilitate, conduct and control on air interviews.

    • Ability to produce and edit on modern media production equipment

    • Working knowledge of and ability to use various social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, etc.).

    • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.

    • Strong organizational skills, and ability to work within tight deadlines.

    • Computer proficiency and knowledge of latest business software required.

    • Must be flexible to work a varying schedule and be available to host a live nightly show.



    • Bachelor of Arts or Sciences Degree, preferably in Communications/Journalism

    • 5 years of collective experience as a producer and/or host for broadcast television, radio, digital and/or print media.

    • A minimum of 3 year On Air Host experience required.
