Position Summary:

The Digital Assets Manager takes a leading role in developing digital strategy and coordinating optimal execution for organizational staff. This includes working closely with station content creators and providing best practice guidance to ensure alignment with North Carolina Public Radio’s principles, while also maximizing the impact of WUNC.

The Digital Assets Manager administrates all digital platforms, which not only include social media platforms, but also mobile apps, website management and audio/video streaming platforms. This position will also manage all data analytics from digital platforms to guide the organization’s overall digital strategy and implementation. Data analytics will be shared with program managers as guidance on best practices and to help select appropriate platforms for the organization. S/he will be responsible for generating and posting content when needed and customizing platforms so that staff can post successfully.

The position will also be on call for any emergencies dealing with platform management and potential changes. This includes interfacing with developers, working with staff and digital consumers when issues arise. This position will also create necessary documentation and written guidance on the station’s digital assets for staff and management.

Educational Requirements:

Masters or Bachelors and 0-2 years of experience or will accept a combination of related education and experience in substitution.

Qualifications and Experience:

The Digital Assets Manager position requires a creative professional with extensive expertise and experience. The candidate will be able to manage a variety of complex systems and processes, while maximizing the visibility and strategic alignment of WUNC’s digital communications. The candidate will have the ability to play a central role in strategy development, generating platform ideas, implementing best practices, and overseeing projects from planning to completion stages.

Leading candidates will have:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.

- Knowledge of programming languages as needed such as Java, Javascript, PHP and HTML along with video and audio codecs will be key to interfacing with many of the digital platforms.

- The ability to manage complex work situations and anticipate and remain alert to potentially problematic situations.

- The ability to produce accurate reports and data is imperative in all areas of this employee’s work.

- The candidate will be self-directed and able to manage his/her time well and be able to respond to changing priorities.

- Have a thorough knowledge of the content planning processes, software, and systems.

- Demonstrated expertise in organizational IT services, offerings and supported platforms.

- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
