POSITION SUMMARY:

The Associate Media Manager will support technical day to day activities of the Production Operations department including but not limited to the acquisition, organization, and distribution of content. This position will also support the maintenance and creation of workflows, and management of different systems within the media supply chain.

 

RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Manage digital and physical media library assets, including file delivery, ingestion, archiving, and restoring media.
  • Manage the asset management system and ensure all content is properly ingested, cataloged, and archived in the system.
  • Administrate various systems within the media supply chain including asset management systems, transcoders, and file transfer software (Signiant, Aspera).
  • Create and manage accounts for media supply chain users, including asset management and file transfer systems.
  • Assist in the creation of transcoding workflows and other workflows within the media supply chain.
  • Troubleshoot problematic media with title managers and work with producers and vendors to help resolve the media issues.
  • Assist manager and department head in developing, maintaining, and enforcing media management, storage, and content security policies.
  • Stay current on all specifications/file-based technologies and provide expertise/knowledge for departments throughout the company, external vendors, and production companies.
  • Other projects and tasks as needed.


WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years of experience managing media and working with media technology in a post-production, broadcast, media distribution company or environment

 TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Deep understanding of video codecs, content production, and media technologies
  • Experience working with and managing media asset management systems required
  • Experience working with Telestream Vantage workflows
  • Experience working in cloud platforms including AWS (Amazon Web Services)
  • Broad knowledge and experience of file sharing applications, storage, and cloud services
  • Knowledge of content production for DVD and Blu-ray authoring
  • Knowledge of digital streaming platform specifications a plus

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
